EICR Packages
If you would like to benefit from a more indepth electrical inspection, please consider choosing a Silver or Gold inspection. More details below.

Package details

🥉 Bronze — EICR Compliance Check (Basic)

Who it’s for: Landlords or owners who only need a minimal, low-touch check to meet a basic requirement.
On-site time: ~ 2 to 2.5 hours.
Visual inspection depth: 10% of accessories (selected sample of sockets, switches, spurs, light points and faceplates).
What you get:

-
Full BS 7671 test schedule and result codes
-
Limited sample of faceplates removed to look for overheating, loose terminations, or missing earths
-
Photos of observations found
-
NICEIC-headed EICR PDF, accepted by insurers and conveyancers
-
Follow-up quotation for any remedial works if required
When Bronze can fall short: Because only 10% of accessories are inspected internally, issues can remain hidden behind the 90% we don’t open. If you are buying, selling, insuring or inheriting a property, Bronze is rarely enough to confidently rule out latent faults.

🥈 Silver — EICR Added Assurance (Recommended Minimum)

Who it’s for: Home buyers and owners who want a meaningfully thorough inspection without going all-in.
On-site time: ~ 4 to 4.5 hours (about 1.5 hours more than Bronze).
Visual inspection depth: 50% of accessories opened and checked.
What you get (everything in Bronze, plus):

-
Half of all accessible sockets, switches, spurs and light points opened and examined
-
Detailed checks for overheating, arcing, damaged insulation, poor terminations and missing CPCs
-
Greater certainty on ring continuity and shared neutrals across circuits
-
More photographs and circuit-by-circuit commentary
Why Silver is the sensible baseline: Most hidden defects show up once we start removing plates. Inspecting 50% dramatically reduces the chance of surprises after purchase or when tenants move in.
🥇 Gold — EICR Most Comprehensive (Best for Buyers & Zero-Surprise Owners)

Who it’s for: Purchasers (including probate purchases), sellers preparing for survey, landlords seeking maximum certainty, and any owner who wants no stone left unturned.
On-site time: ~ 5.5 to 6 hours (about 3 hours more than Bronze).
Visual inspection depth: 100% of accessible accessories opened and inspected across every circuit.
What you get (everything in Silver, plus):

-
Every accessible socket, switch, spur, fused connection unit, and light point opened, photographed and checked
-
Full mapping of issues by circuit, with a prioritised action plan
-
The highest chance of identifying latent faults before they cause damage, downtime or safety risks
-
The most defensible evidence set for insurers, buyers, lenders and solicitors
Why Gold pays for itself: Finding one overheated termination, shared neutral, failing RCD, or loose protective conductor early can save you from property damage, nuisance tripping, failed surveys, or last-minute sales delays. Gold is the package we would choose for our own homes when buying.

Buying or selling? Choose Gold (or Silver at the very least)

-
Conveyancer-friendly: All packages are accepted in the sale process, but Silver and especially Gold provide the detail conveyancers and surveyors look for.
-
Lower risk: More time on site means more faults caught early. That keeps negotiations straight and insurance smooth.
-
Clear next steps: If we do find items, you’ll get a no-obligation quote to fix them quickly—no chasing required.
How we staff your visit

To keep things efficient, Bronze and Silver may be completed by two team members working in parallel. The total on-site time for each package remains the same; we simply split the work to reduce disruption. Gold typically requires the full allocation with focused time on every circuit and accessory.

FAQs

Will the power be off?
Yes, during parts of testing we isolate power to carry out safe “dead testing” and internal inspections. The rest is “live testing”. We’ll keep disruption to a minimum.

How long will it take?

-
Bronze: ~2–2.5 hours
-
Silver: ~4–4.5 hours
-
Gold: ~5.5–6 hours
Property size and access can vary timings slightly.
Is Bronze enough?
It meets the basic checklist, but only opens 10% of accessories. For buyers, sellers and landlords we recommend Silver at minimum—and Gold for complete confidence.

What happens if you find issues?
Your report will clearly list observations with photos and codes. We’ll send a no-obligation quote to put things right.
